You're invited to the "Ask Me Anything" financial panel hosted by Chris Sims and Elaine Nielsen. This will be a roundtable panel discussion, and members are highly encouraged to ask financial management questions.

About the Speakers:

Chris Sims is the Chief Financial Officer for Pirkey Barber PLLC, a law firm based in Austin which focuses on trademark and copyright law.  His primary focus is the strategic direction of the firm working closely with the Management and Finance Committees, along with the Executive Director, to further the business of law.  Prior to that, he served as Controller for Bickerstaff Heath Delgado Acosta LLP.  He brings financial and management expertise and has a long history of working in law firms as well as experience working for large corporations, including IBM, TGI Friday’s and The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company.

Chris earned a Bachelor of Business Administration – Finance from the University of North Texas in Denton and is a Texas Certified Public Accountant.  He is a member in the Association of Legal Administrators where he served on the Board of Directors for the Austin Chapter most recently as President, President-Elect, and Treasurer.  Currently, he is a member of the Association of Legal Administrators Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility Committee and a public member on the Board of Trustees for the Texas Center for Legal Ethics.

Beyond the fascinating world of accounting and finance, Chris enjoys spending time with his husband of 24 years, traveling, and snow skiing.

Elaine Nielsen is the Chief Financial Officer for McGinnis Lochridge, a Texas based mid size law firm.   Elaine has over 27 years of financial experience in the legal profession.

Elaine earned a Bachelor of Business Administration – Accounting from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln and a licensed Texas Certified Public Accountant.  She is a member of the Association of Legal Administrators where she served on the Board of Directors for the Austin Chapter and serving as  Treasurer. 

A mother of two, Jack (21) and Joshua (19),  she enjoys biking, hiking and exploring Austin.   Her most recent adventure hiking The Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.

Important Reminders About Parking

Option 1:  Park in the Chase Tower Building Garage at 221 W. 6^th Street.  Be sure to either stamp your parking ticket or pick up a discount ticket at the meeting to receive the $5.00 discounted parking rate when you exit the garage.

Option 2:  If the Garage is full, the Headliners Club offers a discounted parking rate of $5 at the parking lot at 600 Guadalupe Street (Lot P3010 which is connected to the Extended Stay America Hotel).
