You Belong Here: Creating an Inclusive Environment Where Everyone Belongs

Join us for an interactive meeting and learn how leaders can enhance the sense of belonging in a firm by creating an open and welcoming environment in which employees can be their authentic selves. You’ll explore the economic and racial injustice crises from a diversity, equity and inclusion lens since the onset of COVID-19. You’ll consider implicit bias and how the sooner we’re able to recognize our biases and become more self-aware, the better we’ll be as leaders. You’ll also learn about imposter syndrome and how to recognize and address employees who feel as though they do not belong.
Objectives:

• Develop equity, inclusion, and diversity programming for employees.
• Create awareness of implicit bias and learn how to form healthy working relationships with employees who may not be similar to you.
• Identify solutions for increasing employee engagement by creating a space of inclusiveness.
• Learn how to become a true ally to employees in underrepresented communities in the workplace.

About our Speaker:

Chassidy Deckard is the Director of Administration for the Texas region of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman. She has built her career focusing on law firm management by being a trusted advisor and providing innovative strategies for the ongoing administration of law offices. She is passionate about creating talent pathways for diverse individuals interested in the legal field.

Chassidy received her bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from The
University of Texas and her master’s degree in Occupational, Workforce, and Leadership Studies from
Texas State University. She also received her SHRM-SCP certification.

Chassidy is an active member and volunteer of the Association of Legal Administrators (ALA). In ALA she currently is a member of the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility Committee and serves as the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for the Houston chapter.

Chassidy enjoys traveling and being introduced to different food and cultures across the world.

Important Reminders About Parking

Option 1:  Park in the Chase Tower Building Garage at 221 W. 6^th Street.  Be sure to either stamp your parking ticket or pick up a discount ticket at the meeting to receive the $5.00 discounted parking rate when you exit the garage.

Option 2:  If the Garage is full, the Headliners Club offers a discounted parking rate of $5 at the parking lot at 600 Guadalupe Street (Lot P3010 which is connected to the Extended Stay America Hotel).
