Our speaker for this June's lunch & learn is Tom Carter. Tom is a partner at Retirement Plan Fiduciaries, LLC and focuses on retirement plans. He has worked in the retirement plan industry since 1987 and has experience as a Fiduciary, Investment Advisor, recordkeeper, third party administrator, consultant and an actuary. He has worked on retirement plans that range from start up to $500 million in assets. Tom graduated with an applied mathematics degree from California Polytechnic after serving six years in the Marine Corps. He is a Certified Pension Consultant through the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries.
Presentation Description:
Tom will be covering the recent volatility in the stock and bond markets and how it affects retirement plans. Specific topics will include:
- Stock market volatility for 2020
- How should participants react to this volatility and/or what mistakes should they avoid?
- How should plan sponsors and/or 401(k) Investment Committees react to this volatility?
- COVID-19 distribution and loan changes
- Is now a time for companies to offer Financial Wellness services to plan participants?
- What else can a plan sponsor do within their retirement plan to help partners or employees?
